Manifestation is a mighty powerful tool. It can help you get whatever (or whoever) you want in your life.
And, if you want your dreams to come true faster, it’ll help to do these 10 meditation techniques as well.
Let’s begin!
1) Manifestation meditation
It’s obvious in the name – manifestation meditation is the foremost technique that can help you achieve your goals.
It can help you manifest by altering your thoughts and harnessing positive intent.
“When you allow yourself to clear your mind of all worries, (you can) focus precisely on what it is you want to occur.”
Unsurprisingly, experts believe that “through this technique, you can manifest all kinds of things like money, love, and good luck.”
How to perform manifestation meditation
- Find a quiet, comfortable place.
- Sit or lie down. Make sure your chest is open and your palms are faced upward. This prepares your body for the blessings it’s about to receive.
- Breathe out all the remaining tension in your body.
- Inhale and exhale until you achieve a nice rhythm.
- Think about the thing/person you want to manifest. Be specific about the circumstances!
- Visualize yourself being grateful – as if you’ve already received the thing/person you’ve just manifested.
- Finish your meditation by letting go of your manifestations. See them float to the universe – for they’re on their way to coming true.
Note: Manifestation meditation can be accomplished in as short as 5 minutes, though there’s no stopping you from adding a few more minutes into your routine!
2) Visualization meditation
Manifestation is all about believing in and attracting all the good things (or in some cases, a person) you wish to enter your life.
The same can be said about the visualization meditation technique. It’s all about painting a picture of something (or someone) in your mind.
Scientifically speaking, visualization is effective because the “brain is a fan of visual stimuli.”
As per a Headspace article:
“During the exercise, your amygdala — the tiny structure in the center of the brain responsible for the fight or flight response — has trouble distinguishing between something that is simply being seen during a visualization meditation session and something that is actually happening in real-time.”
Because of these effects, reiki master Serena Poon believes that “You can do a visualization meditation to help you manifest your goals.”
How to perform visualization meditation
- Find a quiet, comfortable place.
- Sit or lie down in a relaxed position.
- Clear your mind of the present distractions.
- Create the image of the thing/person you want to manifest in your mind’s eye.
- Breathe gently – inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.
- Visualize the thing/person you wish to manifest while inhaling. Feel your ‘intentions’ as you exhale.
- Repeat for as long as you want to.
Note: as a beginner, you can start meditating for a quick 5 minutes twice a day. And, as time progresses, Poon recommends visualizing for as long as 20 minutes twice a day.
3) Mantra meditation
Mantras are words or phrases you can utter during meditation. And, when it comes to manifestation, you can substitute the usual ‘om’ with affirmations, such as “I will get that job promotion” or “I will meet my soulmate in a few months.”
True enough, “regularly repeating a mantra that reflects your vision for yourself can increase the likelihood of it becoming reality.”
It’s the goal of manifestation, isn’t it?
How to perform mantra meditation
- Find a quiet, comfortable location where you can meditate without distractions.
- Sit or lie down. Assume any position in which you feel most relaxed.
- Take a few deep breaths.
- Chant your manifestation mantra repeatedly. You can say it out loud or speak it quietly in your mind.
- In case you feel your mind redirecting towards something else, gently pull it back to focus and continue with your mantras.
- Once you’re done meditating, sit for a few minutes more. Wind your thoughts down before you embark on your journey for the day.
Note: For best results, do mantra meditation for at least 5-20 minutes twice a day.
4) Chakra meditation
We all have seven chakras or energy centers in the body. When blocked, they can lead to illnesses – even an inability to manifest.
Such is the case with a blocked solar plexus chakra. Located near the belly button, this chakra – also known as the Manipura – is the “seat of your power in the world.”
“When this center is open and flowing, you are capable of translating your intentions and desires into manifestation. When it is blocked, you feel frustrated and ineffectual,” explains a Mind Body Green report.
How to perform chakra meditation
- Settle in a quiet and comfortable location.
- Sit, lie down, or assume any position in which you feel most relaxed.
- Go through all your chakras. Start from the bottom and work your way toward the top.
- Imagine your solar plexus chakras. Let it glow by breathing in and visualizing the light flowing towards them. Breathe out to release the stresses from this particular chakra.
- Repeat step #4 for the other chakras that are blocked.
- Try to align all your chakras. Visualize them turning clockwise and correcting their flow in the body.
Note: To unblock your solar plexus chakra (as well as the others,) try to meditate on them for at least 20 minutes a day.
5) Focus meditation
Manifestation is all about focusing all of your thoughts on the desired outcome. And, given the many distractions we have in this world today, it could be hard to concentrate on what you wish to manifest.
That’s where focus meditation comes in.
It’s all about maintaining razor-sharp focus. Here, you’re “zeroing in on the details of something so much so that you don’t see anything else.”
Unsurprisingly, this technique can help “deepen your focus,” which is what you really need when manifesting.
How to perform focus meditation
- Find a quiet, relaxed place where you can ‘focus’ well.
- Choose a ‘focus’ for meditation. It could be, perhaps, the new house you wish to manifest.
- Assume a relaxed and comfortable position, be it sitting or lying down.
- Focus on your target – aka the thing/person you wish to manifest. Do more than just visualize it, however. Act as if it’s right in front of you. Bask in its smell and texture, among many other things. Remember: when it comes to focus meditation, it’s all about experiencing your target – not just thinking about it.
- Keep your focus on the thing you wish to manifest. Try to calm the distractions – even your inner voice – down.
Note: Start with short 5-minute sessions before embarking on longer focus meditations.
6) Mindfulness meditation
Mindfulness meditation is perfect for manifestation for it accomplished several things. One, it helps you become fully focused on the now (or the thing/person you wish to manifest, for that matter.)
Two, it helps you let go of the negativity. Remember: negative thoughts = negative experiences, which are bad if you want to manifest something good into your life!
How to perform mindfulness meditation
- Look for a quiet, comfortable place.
- Sit or lie down.
- Focus on your breathing. Feel the air as it enters your lungs and exits your nostrils.
- Take note of your thoughts; don’t try to suppress them. Just watch them float away in your mind.
- Re-focus on your breathing if your wandering thoughts prove too much for you.
Note: Mindfulness meditation can be done in a span of 3-5 minutes. That said, you could add 10-15 minutes to your sessions as you progress – up until you’re able to meditate for 30 minutes!
7) Walking meditation
If you can’t sit or lie for prolonged periods, then walking meditation is a technique you ought to try.
As the name suggests, it focuses “on the physical experience of walking, paying attention to the specific components of each step.”
Not only does walking enhance focus, but it can also help you get rid of the pessimism that could get in the way of your manifestation.
As experts from Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center explain:
“Walking meditation—like mindfulness in general—can help us gain a greater sense of control over our thoughts, feelings, and actions, allowing us to respond in more constructive ways when we experience negative thoughts or emotions.”
How to perform walking meditation
- Find a peaceful location where you can walk and meditate with little distraction.
- Take 10-15 slow, small steps to the area you’ve chosen. You can clasp your hands at the back – or leave them at the side.
- Try to focus your attention on something, e.g., the thing/person you wish to manifest. In case your mind starts to wonder, just try to bring it back to what you’ve been focusing on.
- Pause for a while and breathe in/out for as long as you want.
- Walk back to another part of your walking trail, stop, and breathe in/out.
Note: Walking meditation can be done in as short as 10 minutes a day, though you could always walk for longer if you desire. After all, walking is good for your physical health too.
8) Transcendental meditation
Created by the yogi Maharishi Mahesh, transcendental meditation or TM is one of the most popular techniques of today. It has been practiced by many celebrities, from the Beatles to Jennifer Lopez – and everybody else in between.
Like most of the techniques in this list, transcendental meditation can help improve your focus. It can also help clarify your thoughts and feelings.
Both of these come in handy when you manifest. After all, you need to be specific and crystal clear if you’re trying to manifest your dreams and aspirations.
How to perform transcendental meditation
In actuality, you need to take a class from a certified TM instructor – and that could set you back by as much as $980. This includes a one-hour lecture plus one-on-one training with your teachers.
As with most meditation techniques, here’s how you do TM:
- Look for a quiet, comfortable place.
- Sit on the floor and close your eyes.
- Repeat a certain mantra in your head. (This will be given by your TM instructor.)
After doing TM for yourself, you’ll need to go back to your teacher for 3 follow-up sessions. Here, they’ll observe how you meditate by yourself.
If they deem you ‘worthy,’ they’ll let you practice TM on your own for 20 minutes twice a day, every day.
9) Metta meditation
Also known as loving-kindness meditation, it helps you become more aware of the people in your life. This technique could help you manifest someone for it allows you to “direct positive energy and thoughts toward them.”
How to perform metta meditation
- Go to a quiet and comfortable location.
- Sit or lie down and close your eyes.
- Focus on your chest (heart center.)
- Inhale as if you are directing your love towards yourself. Exhale as if you’re channeling this love towards the person you wish to manifest.
Note: For best results, do your loving-kindness meditation for at least 10 minutes a day.
10) Guided meditation
If you’re a beginner or if you find it hard to perform the techniques above, then a guided meditation is perfect for you. As the name suggests, it’s where a teacher (or an app) directs you through every step of the way.
Like most of the techniques in this list, it can help calm the ‘negative voice’ that’s been interfering with your manifestations.
How to do a guided meditation
- Find a quiet, comfortable place.
- Turn your guided meditation app on if you’re not attending a guided meditation class.
- Sit or lie down.
- Listen to what the teacher says and follow their instructions.
Note: For best results, try to do guided meditation for at least 10 minutes a day.
Final thoughts
Different meditation techniques – such as the 10 examples I’ve given above – can help you manifest the thing, event, or object you wish to have in your life.
But of course, you’ll need to do more than just manifest and meditate. You have to take the necessary steps to make all your aspirations possible.
You can’t get that job promotion if you don’t work hard.
You won’t be able to manifest your soulmate if you don’t put yourself out there.
In other words: you need the power of both your mind and body. Good luck!
